Orange will develop custom AI models for Africa
The French telecommunications giant Orange has partnered with OpenAI and Meta to create custom AI models aimed at better understanding regional African languages, which are difficult for most conversational systems to perceive. This is reported by CNBC.
Currently, large startups train algorithms using information from the USA, causing the models to lose important context from other regions such as culture and language. Such neural networks find it harder to understand information from less commonly used dialects.
