The Dogecoin Foundation seeks funding support

The non-profit organization 'Dogecoin Foundation' recently issued a fundraising call, hoping to obtain the help of large sponsors to assist in the mass adoption of Dogecoin by 2025, with the funds raised to be used for building the infrastructure called 'Dogebox'. The Foundation wrote in the announcement:

'Dogebox is the tool we are building for grassroots retailers, aimed at helping the first million retailers accept Dogecoin as a method of payment on the direct payment layer.'

However, the Foundation did not clearly disclose the fundraising target amount in the announcement. It is reported that although Dogecoin was created in 2013, the 'Dogecoin Foundation' was not established until 2021, at which time it received undisclosed funding support from Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and an anonymous Dogecoin whale. However, it is unclear whether these funders will continue to support the Foundation's development.

Dogebox: A New Hope for Decentralized Payments

According to the Foundation's introduction, the new infrastructure Dogebox will help retailers build their own online stores, integrate Dogecoin into existing payment systems, and allow node operators to participate in decentralized transactions. When Dogecoin is used for transactions of goods and services, node operators will be rewarded, thus creating a robust decentralized payment ecosystem.

The infrastructure is a core part of the Dogecoin Foundation's 'Trailmap' program. This is a community-driven grand plan aimed at promoting the comprehensive development of the Dogecoin blockchain and its ecosystem.

The plan includes three steps:

1. Expand the Dogecoin developer community and improve its accessibility;

2. Lower the barriers to using Dogecoin and prepare for commercial use;

3. Increase the global processing capacity of Dogecoin to meet the scalability needs of a global currency

According to the Dogecoin Foundation's latest roadmap update, the first two goals have been completed at 90% and 100%, respectively. However, the final goal is still in the initial development stage.

The Dogecoin Foundation stated that it will continue to advance these plans to realize its vision of building a freer and fairer financial ecosystem.

The plan aims to promote further growth of the community through future network development.

According to a message released by the Foundation on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, developers are seeking major digital sponsors to support their efforts to promote the mass adoption of Dogecoin by 2025. The funds raised will be used to build an infrastructure called 'Dogebox'.

Support grassroots retailers to accept Dogecoin payments

'Dogebox is the tool we are building for grassroots retailers, aimed at helping the first million retailers accept Dogecoin as a method of payment on the direct payment layer,' the Dogecoin Foundation stated on social media on Monday.

Currently, the fundraising target amount for developers in 2025 is not clear. The Dogecoin Foundation, established in 2021, received undisclosed funding support from Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and an anonymous Dogecoin whale. However, it is unclear whether these funders will continue to support the Foundation's development.
