HIGHER, CLANKER, LUM, ANON, and ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op.

This weekend, I saw David Hoffman highlight what he thinks are the best meme tokens currently on Base while browsing Twitter.
Great minds think alike, right? Because these are the 5 very similar tokens I’m seeing on Base right now.
To be completely open, I currently hold some of these, particularly HIGHER, ANON, and ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op. But aside from my personal views, these tokens have some key timely themes:
They are popular among advanced users of Farcaster.
They are also at least indirectly related to AI and Meme coins.
They are higher-risk contenders in Base, as people increasingly seek new adventurous bets in L2.
Nevertheless, keep your wits about you. The trading volatility surrounding these smaller tokens often spikes or plummets dramatically in a short period. Losing money in this space is inevitable.
However, these tokens are currently notable for specific reasons. I think they do have potential upside. At the very least, understanding them can help us better grasp what is exciting cryptocurrency traders right now.
Next, let’s look at why I think these 5 tokens stand out on Base.
1. HIGHER
The term 'memecoin' suggests that tokens are mainly driven by their meme DNA. That’s why I wouldn’t strictly consider HIGHER a Meme coin, but rather a scene coin: its main driving force is as the native token of the Higher community scene on Base and Farcaster.
Even so, the token’s smooth code and the optimistic theme of 'let's go higher' indeed give it a shiny and timeless appeal at a fundamental memory level. But when you zoom in, you find more depth here than 99.9% of the Meme coin games. That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see it listed on major centralized exchanges (ahem, Coinbase) in the near future.
Simply put, Higher is an emerging headless brand. I think it’s on the same level as Nouns DAO, just more amorphous and centered around the fungible token HIGHER rather than NFTs. The overall point is the same: experimenting with a group of like-minded creatives on cool projects. Together we go higher.
There are signs that this is just the beginning of the mesmerizing AI curiosity that the advanced collective will generate in the coming years. I personally see it as bullish accordingly.
2. CLANKER
The Clanker account was created by Proxy Studio, allowing you to tag it through any Farcaster client, containing the token code, name, and featured image (optional) you need. Then, Clanker AI will launch your liquidity pool on Base with Uniswap V3 liquidity.
Thus, Clanker has become very popular on Farcaster in recent weeks. So far, it has been one of the biggest drivers of 'fareconomic' token issuance, and interest in it has not shown any signs of slowing down. People love the simplicity of this robot.
That said, CLANKER is the native token of Clanker, launched by Clanker, and it has been trading as an agent of the broader Clanker token ecosystem that has recently thrived on Base and Farcaster.
If your argument is that this token launcher will only get bigger in the near future, then CLANKER is one of the main ways to join this journey.
3. LUM
I’ve already mentioned HIGHER and CLANKER above. The mix of these two hot projects has birthed Luminous (abbreviated as LUM), which is why early investors find the token appealing.
Long story short, recently someone prompted the advanced AI agent Aether to suggest the Clanker token robot to create a brand new token. The result is $LUM.
So, it’s not the official token of the Higher community. In short, LUM now acts as a trading agent around the excitement of Aether, which has now become one of the largest Clanker tokens, currently second in market cap only to CLANKER.
Looking ahead, I think the main risk for LUM is market saturation. More AI agents will enter the crypto space, and their upcoming experiments will be more updated and exciting.
4. ANON
The story of ANON has many touching parts, so let me break it down as simply as possible:
Supercast is an advanced client for Farcaster with Super Anon accounts, where users can post anonymously; someone used this account to anonymously prompt the Clanker robot to create the ANON token.
Then there’s community building. Kartik deployed anoncast.org, a new independent privacy-preserving Farcaster client powered by zero-knowledge proofs. If you hold 5,000 ANON, you can use this platform to post anonymously to Farcaster.
While this use case seems simple, it is undeniably neat, and it is one of the first zk-supported consumer crypto applications we see here. Even Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin is interested; he bought a small ANON package, raised questions, and even suggested design ideas.
Now more and more people are rushing to use the application, but what’s its long-term potential?
This remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that Anoncast and ANON are currently capturing people's imagination and attention in the Farcaster ecosystem. The bullish outlook is that Anoncast continuously iterates new features around ANON, making it an increasingly popular utility token on Base, which is certainly possible.
5. ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op
A tie-wearing dog asking Clanker for a Meme coin is the idea behind this meme coin. That’s Dadaism. Remember I mentioned above that Meme coins are mainly driven by Meme DNA? Thus, ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op is pure memory. There’s nothing here but a silly and charming narrative, and these days that’s enough to attract some attention.
However, don’t hold illusions: this token only has a few days of history at this point, and it could be sidelined and forgotten in a short time. This is the riskiest of the 5 tokens mentioned in this article so far. But sometimes, the crazy and incomprehensible can survive and thrive under current market conditions, so if you’re looking for degen plays on Base, this is one of the latest contenders to consider.
