This weekend, while browsing Twitter, I saw David Hoffman highlighting what he believes to be the best meme token currently on Base.
Great minds think alike, right? Because these are exactly the five similar tokens I see on Base right now. Why?
To be completely open, I currently hold some of these, particularly HIGHER, ANON, and ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op. But aside from my personal views, these tokens have some key timely themes:
They are popular among advanced users on Farcaster.
They are also at least indirectly related to AI and Meme coins.
They are high-risk contenders in Base, as people increasingly seek new adventurous bets in L2.
Nonetheless, keep your wits about you. Trading volatility around these smaller tokens can often rise or fall sharply in a short time. Losing money in this space is inevitable.
However, these tokens are currently attracting attention for specific reasons. I believe they do have potential upside. At the very least, understanding them can help us better grasp what currently excites cryptocurrency traders.
Next, let's take a look at why I think these five tokens stand out on Base.
1. HIGHER
The term 'memecoin' indicates that the token is primarily driven by its Meme DNA. That’s why I wouldn’t strictly consider HIGHER a Meme coin, but rather a scene coin: its primary driving force is as the native token of the Higher community scene on Base and Farcaster.
Even so, the token's smooth code and the optimistic theme of 'let's reach higher' do indeed endow it with a bright and timeless appealing foundational memory level. But when you zoom in, you will find there’s more depth here than 99.9% of Meme coin games. That’s why I wouldn't be surprised to see it listed on major centralized exchanges (ahem, Coinbase) in the near future.
Simply put, Higher is an emerging headless brand. I think it stands on the same level as Nouns DAO, just more amorphous, centered around the fungible token HIGHER instead of NFTs. The overall point is the same: trying cool experiments together with a group of like-minded creatives. Reach higher together.
There are signs that this is just the beginning of the charming AI curiosity that the advanced collective will generate in the coming years. Personally, I am bullish accordingly.
2. CLANKER
The Clanker account was created by Proxy Studio, allowing you to tag it through any Farcaster client, which includes the token code, name, and optional featured image you need, then Clanker AI will launch your liquidity pool on Base with Uniswap V3 liquidity for you.
Thus, Clanker has become very popular on Farcaster in recent weeks. So far, it has been the driver behind some of the largest 'fareconomic' token launches, and interest in it has shown no signs of slowing down. People love the simplicity of this bot.
That is to say, CLANKER is the native token of Clanker, launched by Clanker, so it has been trading like an agent of the broader Clanker token ecosystem that has recently flourished on Base and Farcaster.
If your argument is that this token launcher will only get bigger in the near future, then CLANKER is one of the main ways to join this journey.
3. LUM
I have mentioned HIGHER and CLANKER above. The combination of these two popular projects gave birth to Luminous (abbreviated as LUM), which is why early investors find this token appealing.
Long story short, recently someone hinted at the advanced AI agent Aether prompting the Clanker token bot to create a brand new token. The result is $LUM.
So it is not the official token of the Higher community. In short, LUM now acts as the trading agent around the excitement of Aether, which has now become one of the largest Clanker tokens, currently second only to CLANKER in market cap.
Looking to the future, I believe the primary risk for LUM is market saturation. More AI agents will enter the crypto space, and their upcoming experiments will be updated and more exciting.
4. ANON
The story of ANON has many touching parts, so let me break it down as simply as possible:
Supercast is the advanced client of Farcaster, with Super Anon accounts that allow users to post anonymously; someone used this account to anonymously prompt the Clanker bot to create the ANON token.
Then there’s community building. Kartik deployed anoncast.org, a new independent privacy-preserving Farcaster client powered by zero-knowledge proofs. If you hold 5,000 ANON, you can use this platform to post anonymously to Farcaster.
While this use case seems simple, it is undeniably neat, and it is one of the first consumer crypto applications powered by zk that we see here. Even Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin is interested; he bought a small ANON package, asked questions, and even made design suggestions.
Now more and more people are rushing to use the app, but what is its long-term potential?
This remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that Anoncast and ANON are currently capturing people’s imagination and attention in the Farcaster ecosystem. The bullish prospect is that Anoncast continues to iterate new features around ANON, making it an increasingly popular utility token above Base, which is certainly possible.

The idea behind this Meme coin is a dog in a tie asking Clanker for Meme coins. This is Dadaism. Remember I mentioned that Meme coins are primarily driven by Meme DNA? Therefore, ghffb47yii2rteeyy10op is purely memory. There’s nothing here but a silly, charming narrative, and that’s enough to attract some attention nowadays.
However, let's not kid ourselves: this token is only a few days old and may be cast aside and forgotten in a short time. It is the highest risk among the five tokens mentioned in this article so far. But sometimes, the crazy and incomprehensible things can survive and thrive in the current market conditions, so if you are looking for degen games on Base, this is one of the latest contenders to consider.
