"Another thousand-fold golden dog appeared tonight," "I missed a hundred-fold while taking a nap," I wonder if you have had such experiences, the golden dog always ambushes when you are not around, and by the time you react, the market cap has already exceeded eight digits. So, when is the golden dog most frequent? Is it necessary to be online during this period to have a chance? Odaily will review this in this article.
When does the golden dog appear?
We first take the top thousand tokens by market capitalization from Pump.fun as the research subjects, and obtain the token creation time points as follows. The creation time point of 0 means that the token was created during Beijing time from 0:00 to 1:00, and so on. It can be clearly seen from this chart that after 21:00, the frequency of golden dogs jumps from 2% to 4% and continues to rise, reaching a peak between 3:00 and 6:00 in the morning, then falling back to 2%-3% in the morning hours.
To verify whether this pattern is correct, we expanded our research subjects to include tokens ranked in the top 200 and top 2000 by market capitalization. To make this more intuitive, we added a bar chart as shown below. It can be seen that for tokens in the top 2000 by market cap, the frequency of golden dog appearances significantly increases after 21:00, and it also holds a significant advantage between 3:00 and 6:00 in the morning.
Is there still a chance if you miss the night?
It is difficult for most users to hit the dog in the early morning, so does missing the first wave in the early morning mean there is no chance at all? The author has counted the interval from the creation of the top 20 tokens to the first peak, and the results are shown in the chart below. On average, it takes 52.7 hours to ferment to the first peak, while it takes an average of 58.7 days to reach the current top 20 status, indicating that even if you miss the opening, there is still ample time to get in.

Pump market cap rankings can be obtained through the pump front-end API, which includes over ten pieces of information such as token address, symbol, creation and end times, etc. For the top tokens, this API can be used to retrieve them. The author has tested and found that it is possible to obtain tokens ranked within the top 2050 by market capitalization.
For tokens that are not on the ranking list, the creation time can be queried through the front-end API. The last transaction of this API is the first purchase transaction by the developer, from which the token creation time can be obtained.
