Techub News Report: Sui released an analysis report stating that between 17:15 and 19:45 Hong Kong time on November 21, the Sui mainnet experienced a complete network outage, causing all validators to fall into a crash loop and preventing any transactions from being processed. The Sui network encountered its first network failure due to a bug in the congestion control code. Congestion control is a system that limits the rate of transactions writing to a single shared object to prevent the network from becoming overloaded due to prolonged checkpoint execution times. The bug originated from a recent upgrade to the congestion control code aimed at better utilizing shared objects. After the team identified the issue, they immediately fixed the code (PR #20365). This code fix has been released on the mainnet version v1.37.4 and testnet version v1.38.1.
