Bezos denies Musk's claim he told people to sell Tesla and SpaceX stock since Trump would lose

In a late-night post on Wednesday, Elon Musk accused Jeff Bezos of urging everyone to sell their stock in Tesla and SpaceX if Kamala Harris won the 2024 presidential election. Musk claimed he had learned about this from a conversation at Mar-a-Lago, suggesting that Bezos had told people Trump would lose, and they should exit their investments in Musk’s companies. However, Bezos quickly denied the accusation on X, calling it "100% not true." This incident adds fuel to the ongoing rivalry between the two tech giants, who are the two wealthiest individuals globally, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index. Musk's wealth has soared to $331 billion, driven by Tesla's stock surge, while Bezos holds $226 billion, primarily from Amazon.

Beyond personal rivalries, their companies—Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin—are in direct competition, especially in the aerospace sector. Both are vying for lucrative NASA contracts and national security space missions, with NASA recently asking them to develop cargo landers for its Artemis missions to the Moon. The tension between Musk and Bezos continues to be a key part of their competition, both in business and in the public eye.
