Heather Morgan, one of two people responsible for laundering stolen Bitcoins related to the 2016 Bitfinex hack, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Washington DC District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly found Morgan guilty of money laundering and defrauding the United States. Morgan and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, admitted to laundering millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin. Lichtenstein admitted to hacking the exchange and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
