In the past week, DeSci has suddenly become a hot topic again. Since Binance Labs announced its investment in BIO Protocol, DeSci tokens such as VITA, GROW, and RSC have all risen sharply, and have maintained strong performance in the recent market correction. The BIO Genesis event, which had not been very popular before, was immediately filled up, and even the pump small experimental platform previously launched by the BIO team was "resurrected" again. Now, it seems that all the hot money in crypto is running into DeSci.

The meme market continues to be hot. Among various narrative angles, the meme coins RIF and URO in the Desci field have increased 20 times in less than two days. These two tokens come from the Pump.science platform and represent the compounds rifamycin (RIF) and urolithin (URO) respectively.
Pump.science is a meme token issuance platform launched by Desci project Molecule DAO, which supports medical experiments in the form of meme tokens. The launch of tokens RIF and URO did not generate much splash, and the market value has been fluctuating around $150,000. In the past two days, RIF and URO have continuously broken new highs, with the highest market value approaching $3 million, an increase of 20 times.
Pump.Science is a meme token issuance platform launched by Desci platform Molecule DAO at this year's Token 2049 Solana Breakpoint Conference. Players can buy meme tokens representing drugs and participate in the prediction of drug effects and the trading of experimental data. For related reading, see: (Desci leader also makes a living, can Pump.science play the "biological science meme" well?) The reason why Pump.science has been able to "come back to life" in the past few days can be said to be inseparable from Binance's frequent actions in the Desci field.
On November 8, Binance labs announced its investment in BIO Protocol, saying that the investment marked Binance labs' first foray into the field of decentralized science (DeSci). Less than a week after the announcement, CZ attended Binance's Desci Day event in Bangkok and discussed Desci insights with Vitalik.
Regarding BIO Protocol, we can learn that it focuses on the field of medical research and uses blockchain technology to change the financing and commercialization methods of early scientific research. Paul Kohlhaas, founder of BIO Protocol, once said that BIO Protocol is committed to breaking the traditional scientific research funding dilemma, promoting global patient-driven scientific research, and bringing revolutionary changes.
At the Desci Day event in Bangkok, Vtalik Buterin also showed CZ VitaDAO’s first longevity product, VD001, a natural high-dose spermidine supplement approved by the Thai FDA. CZ said frankly, “I hope to see 1,000 Desci projects next year.”
It was during these few days that the prices of various Desci project tokens rose sharply. In addition to RIF and URO mentioned at the beginning of the article, VitaDAO token VITA and Desci project ResearchCoin token RSC also saw impressive growth.
What is the favorite track among the bigwigs in the cryptocurrency circle?
In fact, Desci's "reputation" has always been high.
As early as last year, the concept of Desci had caused a wave of enthusiasm in the Chinese community, and Desci's innovation in longevity research attracted the attention of CZ. He once said: I have actually been paying attention to biotechnology and thinking about how to use encryption technology to accelerate the flow of research funds in this field. This post has also become a key point for the rekindling of Desci.
Not only CZ, but also many industry leaders attended the Desci conference held in Berlin at the end of last year, such as Matti, co-founder of Zee Prime Capital, and Tyler Golato, CEO of Molecule. They actively shared their research and insights on Desci and had high expectations for the Desci field.
More than a month ago, a16z also entered the DeSci field for the first time and led the investment in AminoChain, a DeSci project dedicated to reforming the process of patients contributing biological samples in the medical field. Binance has also repeatedly revealed on social media that it is ready to use blockchain technology to strongly support scientific projects. CZ once said, "Innovation often occurs in small groups. We need decentralized science because many excellent researchers cannot get enough funding."
It can be foreseen that with the promotion of Binance, the Desci field will attract more and more attention.
Which projects can I focus on?
BIO Protocol, which received investment from Binance Labs, aims to build a global scientific research funding and cooperation platform based on blockchain and DAO, hoping to use blockchain technology to promote solutions to rare diseases, longevity research, and emerging health, which are currently difficult to overcome. BIO Protocol's network currently has seven BIO DAOs, covering cryopreservation, women's health, mental health and other areas. The protocol token BIO and the tokens of its partner DAOs can be used as targets of attention.
BIO(BIO Protocol)
On August 9, BIO Protocol launched the first round of Bio Genesis token sales, with an average price of $0.025 and a trading volume of $11.51 million. The second round of token sales was held on September 30, and the average price of BIO has increased by 72% to $0.043, and the trading volume has also increased to $19.49 million. Until the 2.5th round of public auction on November 10, the price of BIO rose to $0.066, an increase of 264% from the first round. At present, the auction round of BIO Protocol has ended.
VITA(VitaDAO)
VitaDAO is a group that focuses on funding early longevity research. It has raised more than $5 million and received investment from Pfizer Ventures. Since Vitalik showed CZ the first product VD001 developed by VitaDAO in Bangkok, VITA has been on a tear, with the highest daily increase reaching 82.4%. The latest price is $3.12, with a market value of more than $80 million, and a nearly three-fold increase in the past week.
RSC(ResearchHub)
RSC is the native token of the ResearchHub platform, a project created by Brian Armstrong, the founder of Coinbase. It is mainly used to reward users who publish high-quality content (new papers, comments, peer reviews, and paper highlights, etc.) on the platform. Every time a user publishes such content or receives a like, he or she will receive a certain number of RSC tokens. The number of RSCs can represent the user's reputation on the ResearchHub platform. The higher the reputation, the greater the power (the right to mark, edit or delete low-quality content to ensure the quality of the platform content).
ResearchHub also has a partnership with BIO protocol. In the past week, RSC has risen by nearly 200%, and its market value has reached 60 million US dollars again after a lapse of six months.
In addition, the developments of the Pump.science platform’s tokens RIF and URO mentioned at the beginning of the article and its incubator Molecule DAO are also worth paying attention to.
However, looking back at the history of tokens, we can find that RSC’s monthly increase in November 2023 was close to 40 times, and then suffered a sharp decline; VITA also fell after reaching a market value of about US$100 million in 2022 and 2023. Whether the support of Binance Lab and the enthusiastic “calling” of CZ and Vitalik can push the Desci track to a new height remains to be tested by time.
