According to Foresight News, The Block reported that US President-elect Donald Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat who is friendly to Bitcoin, as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. RFK Jr. has always been a prominent advocate of cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin. During the 2024 presidential campaign, he proposed to establish a strategic reserve of Bitcoin to stabilize the dollar and exempt capital gains taxes on Bitcoin profits. Kennedy also revealed that a large part of his personal wealth is invested in Bitcoin and has pushed the United States to establish a relaxed regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies.
Trump’s top team includes a range of cryptocurrency advocates, such as Vice President-elect JD Vance, Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, and new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) co-heads Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
