The feeling of a margin call is truly unbearable. I can imagine it is more profound than the setbacks in family, career, and relationships because a margin call is not about the relationship between people or between people and society, but rather the objective contradiction between a person and the market, as well as the subjective contradiction with one's own baser nature. Even an experienced older man, when faced with a margin call for the first time, would probably light a cigarette in the deep of night. It is a chaotic feeling that I cannot clearly articulate, but it should encompass the powerlessness of an individual facing the market, the helplessness of disliking one's own baser nature yet being unable to discard it, as well as the futility and regret that comes with losing wealth.
