Does that number sound astonishing? But Van Eck believes that, considering the current market conditions, this prediction is actually quite conservative.
Why $300,000? Van Eck explained that he makes this prediction because Bitcoin is regarded as digital gold, and he expects Bitcoin's market capitalization to quickly reach half of the total market value of gold.
He also mentioned that his prediction is actually conservative, and other market analysts might provide higher valuations.
It's not just Van Eck's CEO who thinks so; other market experts are also optimistic about Bitcoin's short-term rise. For example, the Chief Information Officer of Fundstrat predicts that Bitcoin's price will exceed $100,000 by the end of the year.
Van Eck also shared an important piece of information, stating that part of the recent increase in Bitcoin's price is due to the growing demand for ETFs from individuals and institutions. He noted that just the day before the interview (November 7), the inflow of funds into Bitcoin ETFs reached an astonishing $1.38 billion.
Additionally, the recent victory of Republican Donald Trump is also seen as a friendly signal for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Trump has even publicly stated plans to make the U.S. the 'Bitcoin capital of the world.'
Besides Bitcoin, VanEck's CEO also mentioned Ethereum. He believes that Ethereum is a cryptocurrency worth buying, and that stablecoins will soon dominate the global payment system, with the Ethereum blockchain benefiting from this trend.
