ChainCatcher message, during the 'DeInsight 2024' annual summit held in Bangkok at Devcon, Alliance Director Will Robinson delivered a keynote speech on 'Speculation in Web3 as Entertainment'.
Will shared that speculation as entertainment in Web3, using the development of the full-chain game Primodium as an example, aims for healthy game design but fails to attract the most important users; spending more time on design initially makes major iterations impossible.
Will Robinson stated: Crypto speculation is like horse racing, with different conditions at each stage.
Since the original Ethereum protocol in 2015, it has gone through the mentality of Coinbase in 2016, the ICO boom in 2017, the industry low in 2018-2019, the DeFi boom in 2020, the rise of NFTs in 2021, the collapse of Terra in 2022, the rise of friend.tech as the main social network in 2023, and the popularity of meme coins in 2024.
Will Robinson concluded that the crypto industry in 2025 will have better user interfaces, be more interesting, and trends in external attributes or become speculation in crypto.
