Dean Skurka, the CEO of WonderFi, a leading Canadian crypto firm, was reportedly kidnapped during rush hour in downtown Toronto on November 6, 2024.

According to police, Skurka was forced into a vehicle near University Avenue and Richmond Street, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom.

Skurka was later released unharmed in Centennial Park, but only after a $1 million ransom was paid electronically.

Following the incident, WonderFi confirmed Skurka’s safety and emphasized that client funds and data remain secure, assuring the public that the company is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
