Foresight News reports that MakerDAO voted to retain its recent rebranding, with nearly 80% of votes supporting the continued use of Sky as the brand for the backend protocol. Additionally, Sky plans to launch new stablecoins, including the decentralized censorship-resistant puredai and the compliance-focused NewStable aimed at the mass market, and plans to release versions on Solana and Base.

Foresight News previously reported that MKR token holders are currently voting to assess their opinions on whether MakerDAO should 'reposition' the Maker brand and abandon the newly adopted name 'Sky' from August. MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen remained neutral on the branding issue during an interview but urged the community to resolve the branding controversy and refocus on growth.
