ChainCatcher news, according to Coindesk, Republican Dave McCormick defeated incumbent Democrat Bob Casey in Pennsylvania to win a Senate seat. The Republicans currently hold at least 53 seats, with two more races to go - Arizona and Nevada, though both Democratic candidates in these two races are currently in the lead.

It is reported that McCormick has the support of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and has openly supported the cryptocurrency industry, although he has not received support from any major cryptocurrency-affiliated PACs.
