According to Techub News, as reported by CoinDesk, MKR token holders are currently voting to assess their opinion on whether MakerDAO should "reposition" the Maker brand and abandon the new name "Sky" adopted in August.

MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen remained neutral on brand issues during an interview, but called on the community to resolve brand disputes and refocus on growth. Christensen emphasized that changing the name to Sky is "far more than just a renaming," but rather a part of Maker's "endgame" strategy, which has launched new products like the USDS stablecoin. However, he also acknowledged that the renaming to Sky faced challenges that affected community perception and market confidence. This round of voting will last until November 7.

Techub News previously reported that MakerDAO is considering abandoning the Sky brand. Sky co-founder Rune Christensen stated on its governance forum that "people are more willing to hold MKR compared to upgrading the brand to SKY." Meanwhile, several contributors pointed out that "the introduction of the SKY token did not achieve the expected growth."
