Odaily Planet Daily reported that Ethereum researchers Justin Drake and Dankrad Feist disclosed on X that they have resigned from their advisory roles at the re-staking platform Eigenlayer amidst controversy over their announcement. Drake mentioned that he stepped down from the position in September. In a statement, Drake wrote, “I want to apologize to the Ethereum community and my colleagues at EF (Ethereum Foundation) for the mess I caused; in hindsight, it was a bad move for me.” Drake had previously described his token allocation payment as a significant sum, claiming it represented “millions of dollars in token vesting over three years.” Feist stated in the post, “EigenLayer is a great project, and I hope it continues to complement Ethereum well in many ways. But there is still a lot of important work to be done for Ethereum, and I will focus all my energy on completing it.” Additionally, Drake stated, “From now on, I will decline all advisory, angel investment, and security committee roles. This personal policy goes beyond the recent conflict of interest policy within EF, not because anyone asked me to do so, but because I want to show my commitment to neutrality.” (The Block)
