According to a new report from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the number of cryptocurrency investors in South Korea has grown to 7.78 million, up 21% year-on-year. 🚀
The average daily transaction volume in the virtual asset market increased by 67%, reaching a record 6 trillion won ($4.3 billion). The overall market valuation also increased by 27% to 55.3 trillion won ($40 billion).
Men make up 68% of crypto investors, with men in their 30s being particularly active. Women are also contributing to the market’s growth.
Most investors hold less than 500,000 won ($362) in digital assets, but 10% have portfolios over 10 million won ($7,000), and 1.3% have portfolios over 100 million won ($72,000).
Bitcoin remains the most popular asset, followed by Ethereum, Ripple, Dogecoin and Ethereum Classic.
Price volatility remains significant, with the maximum downside (MDD) increasing to 70%. FIU warns investors of increased price volatility.
