BlockBeats news, on November 3rd, two Ethereum researchers revealed in a message released today that they have resigned from their positions due to controversy arising from their roles as advisors to the restaking platform EigenLayer.

Ethereum researchers Justin Drake and Dankrad Feist posted on the X platform that they resigned from their advisory roles to focus on the development of the Ethereum base network. Drake indicated that he stepped down from this position in September.

"I want to apologize to the Ethereum community and my colleagues at the Ethereum Foundation for the controversy I have caused," Drake wrote in a statement. "Looking back, it was a mistake to make that decision at the time." Their advisory roles announced in May raised concerns about conflicts of interest.

According to DefiLlama data, EigenLayer ranks among the top three in total value locked (TVL) on Ethereum. Drake has stated that his token allocation income is quite substantial, equivalent to "millions of dollars worth of tokens vesting over three years."
