**Starknet Hits New TPS Milestone in Stress Test**

Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution, recently hit a peak of 857 transactions per second (TPS) during a controlled stress test on Oct. 29. Over a 24-hour period, the network averaged 127.5 TPS, showcasing its potential for high-demand blockchain applications. CEO Eli Ben-Sasson emphasized that Starknet achieved this without compromising on integrity, unlike some networks.

The test simulated a high-demand gaming environment, making it accessible for casual gamers. Starknet's performance outshined competitors like Coinbase's Base network, which maxed out at 79.92 TPS on the same day.

While the results are promising, real-world scalability remains a challenge, as seen with networks like Ethereum and Solana. Ben-Sasson hinted at future developments, including the introduction of the STWO prover in early 2025, to push Starknet's TPS even higher.
