3. Election process

consensus principle

Group representatives need at least 2/3 + 1 votes from their fellow group members to be elected. For example, for a group of 7 people, you need to get at least 5 votes to become a group representative. If the discussion time is up and there is still no group representative selected, the group will not produce a group representative.

random grouping principle

All candidates will be randomly divided into several groups, and the size of all random groups will be as consistent as possible, ranging from approximately 4 to 12 people. The group size is required to be no less than 4 people to facilitate reaching a consensus of 2/3 + 1. If there are less than 4 people, reaching a consensus of 2/3 + 1 will require everyone to agree. The requirement for group size to be no larger than 12 people is for more effective communication and to try to ensure that everyone has a chance to explain their point of view to the group members.

multiple rounds principle

In the first round, all candidates are randomly grouped to select first-round representatives; in the second round, all first-round representatives are randomly grouped to select second-round representatives... and so on. Based on existing election experience, the entire election campaign needs to ensure that no less than 3 random groups can be conducted as much as possible, so that there are at least 4 levels of community representatives, namely, chairman, chief representative, second-round representative, and first-round representative, of which the chairman is Selected at random.

election manifesto

Candidates need to formulate their own election manifesto based on the proposals that have been screened. The main contents of the election manifesto should include:

1) If funds are obtained, which proposals are prepared to be supported and the reasons are stated (the importance of the project to the ecology, the feasibility of the project, the profitability of the project itself, etc.);

2) Your own advantages as a proposal supporter, including but not limited to your familiarity with the project, your own resource capabilities, etc.

4. Why you should become an Eden member and candidate

Participate in democratic governance practices

Eden is inspired by Dan Larimer's new book "A More Equal Animal World: The Subtle Art of True Democracy" and aims to promote EOS to become a highly decentralized, efficient, transparent and democratic decision-making governance platform. Joining Eden is the best way to participate in democratic governance practices.

Build EOS community influence

Through the Eden election process, express your views on EOS ecological development, EOS democratic governance and other issues, and show your strong leadership skills in voting to gain more supporters and wider influence in the EOS community.

Get financial support

Eden representatives will receive corresponding community funds to support the development of the projects they support. The total amount allocated each month is 5% of the current funds in Eden’s treasury, and community representatives with higher levels will receive a larger share of community funds.

Only high-quality EOS ecological projects can sign up to join the community through the EdenOS official website and have the opportunity to receive funding from the EOS Foundation.

Conclusion

Everyone is welcome to actively participate and continue to follow us. We will bring you the latest progress and operational details about Eden.
