Microsoft Shareholders to Vote on Adding Bitcoin to Balance Sheet
According to Cointelegraph, documents from the U.S. securities regulator show that Microsoft shareholders will vote on whether to consider adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet. The vote will take place at a meeting on December 10.
Microsoft's board of directors recommended that shareholders vote against the proposal, arguing that they had evaluated a variety of investable assets, including Bitcoin.
The proposal, made by the National Center for Public Policy Research, points out that business intelligence company MicroStrategy's Bitcoin investment strategy has outperformed Microsoft by more than 300% this year, despite its business being much smaller than Microsoft's.
