**Sky Considers Returning to Maker Brand Amid Community Confusion**

The decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Sky, formerly known as Maker, is contemplating a return to its original Maker brand following community feedback. Since rebranding in August, users have expressed confusion and a preference for the Maker identity.

Sky co-founder Rune Christensen proposed three options on the governance forum:

- Continue with Sky to leverage recent momentum.

- Recenter the Maker brand with MKR as the governance token.

- Modernize Maker to align with the USDS stablecoin.

A community call on Oct. 25 and a governance poll on Nov. 4 will determine the platform's future direction. The MKR token has seen a 45% drop since the rebrand, trading at its lowest since September 2023.
