Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren held her second and final debate with attorney John Deaton ahead of the November election. In the debate, which was broadcast on October 17 by New England Public Media and GBH News, Warren reiterated that cryptocurrency transactions have been linked to “drug cartels” and “terrorists” and called for regulations on the industry. Warren criticized Deaton’s allegiance to crypto supporters, saying, “80% of Deaton’s wealth is in crypto, 90% of his campaign funds are in crypto, and his allegiance in Washington is 100% to crypto: that’s corruption.”

Deaton criticized Warren’s ties to SEC Chairman Gary Gensler. This debate for Massachusetts voters could be the last before early voting begins. Polls show Warren with a nearly 20-point lead over Deaton. While Warren is known for her anti-crypto stance in Congress, Deaton has the support of crypto industry players.
