Brasil, Mercado Bitcoin

The University of Brasília (UnB) will launch an innovative course: “Bitcoin – technical aspects and implementation of the protocol”. The course, available in October, will be offered to undergraduate students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, networks, mechatronics and a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

The initiative reflects the growing interest in studying the technology behind Bitcoin, consolidated as the world's main digital asset.

Expanding knowledge about Bitcoin

The course will be taught by Professor Edil Medeiros, also an instructor at Vinteum. The organization is dedicated to developing Bitcoin-related technologies in Brazil and Latin America. In addition, Vinteum will provide technical support for the course content.

The goal of UnB is to increase understanding of Bitcoin as a technological protocol, going beyond its use as a cryptocurrency. According to Medeiros, many professionals are already accelerating their careers using the protocol. He highlights the value of this knowledge in areas such as digital security and open source development, for example.

For the teacher, this is an excellent opportunity for those looking to expand their skills in a market that only tends to grow.

“By delving deeper into the technical study of Bitcoin, students will be ready to explore new career opportunities, whether in cryptocurrency startups or in projects related to blockchain and decentralization,” says Edil.

Partnership between UnB and Vinteum

The partnership between UnB and Vinteum comes at an opportune time, considering the growth of the cryptocurrency market and the growing interest in Bitcoin. Thus, the course will have a workload of 60 hours and will be taught until February 2025.

Additionally, Vinteum has played an important role in training developers focused on the Bitcoin protocol through the Bitcoin Dev Launchpad program. The organization recently raised $58 million to foster crypto development in Brazil.

The expectation is that the course will attract students who want to understand how the protocol works and how it can be applied to innovative solutions in technology and finance.

In this way, UnB aims to position itself at the forefront of cryptocurrency education in Brazil, providing a deeper understanding of Bitcoin. In this way, the university contributes to the training of new specialists capable of driving the development of the crypto ecosystem in the country.
