PANews reported on October 18 that according to The Block, the Ethereum-based operating system ethOS launched dGEN1, a hardware device for interacting with on-chain dApps and running light clients. The company described dGEN1 as "the first on-chain daily carry product" that includes a browser and a built-in wallet. It also has a dedicated screen that displays transaction notifications and metadata during network interactions.

dGEN1 devices can be pre-ordered by minting NFTs on the Layer 2 network Base for 0.2 ETH ($520). The company expects to ship the devices in the second quarter of 2025. To date, about 630 users have minted NFTs. Device owners will receive airdrop rewards when dGEN1 is delivered, and each owner is entitled to an equal share of the airdrop pool.

dGEN1 does not have telecommunications capabilities, but is designed specifically to interact with Ethereum. In August, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik donated 200 ETH to support the project.
