Vitalik outlines the goal of reaching 100,000 TPS for Ethereum's expansion roadmap
Continuing the series of articles on Ethereum's development roadmap, Vitalik Buterin shares his concerns during The Surge phase, revolving around 2 issues:
1ïžâŁ Not only L2, Ethereum also needs to expand
âą Vitalik's ambition is to increase transaction processing speed on both Layer 1 and Layer 2 up to 100,000+ TPS to better meet the needs of dApps and users
âą The reason is that if L2s expand well and operate effectively, but L1 can only handle very small amounts of transactions, Ethereum will face many potential risks.
2ïžâŁImprove user experience
âą For Vitalik to truly become part of Ethereum, it needs to feel like users are experiencing a seamless ecosystem, not just 34 separate blockchains.
âą Transferring tokens from one chain to another needs to be seamless so users donât have to worry about manual bridges or gas fees like they do now.
