Tier 2 warning from Vitalik Buterin: Ether value may decrease

Vitalik Buterin, who shared his ideas on the Ethereum network every week with his blog posts, touched on the issue of scalability this time. Stating that decentralization and robustness should be maintained in the Ethereum main network, Buterin warned that the increase in the scaling difference between the 2nd layer of networks may devalue Ether as a price.

Vitalik Buterin stated that the long-term goal in Ethereum is 100 thousand transactions per second on the 1st and 2nd layer networks. In the blog post he shared today, Buterin stated that the Ethereum roadmap will continue to be linked to "sharding" and layer 2 protocols centered on "rollup".

“Decentralization and power must be protected...”

Writing that they still have some difficulties in this regard, Buterin said, “Our goal is to complete the 'rollup' centered roadmap and solve the problems. However, while solving these problems, we also need to protect the elements that make the Ethereum 1st layer decentralized and robust," he said. Buterin also called the next stage of the roadmap “The Surge”.

The Ethereum founder said that in addition to the target of 100 thousand transactions per second, the workability with the 2nd layers should also be raised to the best possible level.

“Data verification should be easy”

Buterin, who also wrote that despite the Dencun update and the blobs that came with it, the Ethereum network still cannot provide what it wants in terms of speed, used the following statements:

“It is necessary to improve the data provision in order to bring the transaction speed to the desired level. In this way, the network will be able to verify the very without the need for each node to verify the data and store all the data”
