Trump Leads Kamala Harris on Polymarket
As of Wednesday morning, Polymarket's 2024 presidential election forecast showed Trump with 59% of the vote from bettors, while Harris trailed with 40.3%.
Both candidates have seen their support shift over the past few months, but Trump has made significant strides in recent days, especially in Polymarket's decentralized poll.
However, official national polls show the race appears closer, with Harris leading Trump by a narrow 2 points.
Kamala Harris Pushes Digital Asset Initiative
Polymarket's surge in support for Trump, the convicted former US president, comes just weeks before the election.
On Monday, Harris launched a digital asset protection initiative aimed at black male voters, in response to Trump's inroads with this important demographic.
âShe will ensure that digital asset owners and investors benefit from a fair regulatory framework,â Harrisâs campaign agenda states. âThis will protect Black men and others participating in the market.â
Meanwhile, Trump has launched the official token for his family's new cryptocurrency platform, World Liberty Financial, though some critics have likened it to a hype-and-dump scheme.
Shortly after its launch, World Liberty Financial's website crashed, with only 9,000 token holders as of Wednesday morning.
Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the US cryptocurrency regulatory framework and vowed to fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler if elected, accusing him of taking an overly harsh approach to regulation.
âIf for some reason bad things happen and we donât win the election, the people who are under investigation and are now free as birds, the people who are being tracked in the crypto world, theyâre going to be in hell because it starts the day after the election if they win,â Trump said in a recent discussion on X.
