Crypto enthusiasts have four major opportunities this week to earn free cryptocurrency tokens from projects backed by high-profile investors. These projects—ether.fi, DeBank, Pretzel, and WalletConnect—are leading the way for October airdrops.

Ether.fi

Ether.fi, an Ethereum liquid restaking protocol, has officially launched its Season 3 airdrop, available to its stakers. Backed by major investors like Consensys, OKX Ventures, and Aave’s founder Stani Kulechov, ether.fi is positioning itself as a key player in Ethereum’s staking landscape.

This airdrop focuses on Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) users, offering them the chance to claim tokens. The project has a history of redistributing millions of tokens from past airdrops. To qualify, stakers needed to complete tasks such as linking a wallet, staking assets from Symbiotic, Karak, or EigenLayer, and tracking updates to earn ether.fi points.

With Season 4 of its staking program already underway, ether.fi has shifted to a more flexible, open-ended format, featuring four-month mini-seasons.

DeBank

DeBank, a popular DeFi portfolio tracker, is offering an airdrop as part of its XP token campaign. After raising $25 million from investors like Coinbase and Circle, DeBank is targeting active on-chain addresses from 2024. Users who held assets of more than $0 as of July 4, 2024, and completed at least one transaction, are eligible for the airdrop.

Participants who referred others to DeBank earned 50 XP per referral, which can be converted into airdrop tokens. Additionally, DeBank badges, which are awarded for various achievements, may also qualify users for the airdrop. A new badge, introduced on October 10, offers further incentives for participation.

ReOwn (formerly WalletConnect)

One of the major highlights this week is WalletConnect’s airdrop registration, which is closing soon. Users have until the end of the week to sign up, with token claims expected to begin in November.

Eligibility depends on past activity on the WalletConnect network, with increased chances for users who have established multiple connections. Contributors involved in projects like CAIPs, EIPs, and Ethereum SDKs are also considered. Those who mint the WalletConnect badge will be ranked among the top 1% of airdrop recipients, giving them priority in future distributions.

Pretzel

Berachain Layer 2 platform Pretzel, known for supporting independent game economies, has announced an upcoming airdrop as part of its testnet campaign. Users can complete tasks such as staking, bridging, playing games, and finishing the Galxe quest to accumulate points, which can be converted into PRET tokens once the token generation event (TGE) occurs.

By participating in these activities, users enhance their chances of receiving a portion of the airdrop when PRET tokens are distributed.
