Kamala Harris, Democratic presidential candidate and current U.S. Vice President, sharply criticized Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, on October 14. Harris warned that a second Trump term would be dangerous for America, calling Trump "unstable and unhinged." She referenced his recent comments about internal enemies in the U.S., where he suggested military force might be used to address such threats.

Trump, speaking at a town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, echoed these sentiments, warning about "radical left lunatics" and claiming that domestic enemies could be dealt with by the National Guard or military. He also continued his dehumanizing rhetoric toward immigrants and others who oppose him politically.

Harris highlighted Trump's remarks at her rally, stating that Trump sees anyone who disagrees with him as an enemy of the country. She emphasized the risk of electing him again, drawing on the violent events of January 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump's supporters stormed the Capitol. Democrats have long painted Trump as a threat to democracy.

Polls suggest a tight race between Trump and Harris, especially in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state. Harris currently holds a narrow lead of less than 1 percent. Both candidates are focused on energizing key voter groups, with Harris appealing to Black men and Arab and Muslim Americans, whose support for her has wavered.

Trump, meanwhile, reiterated his commitment to increasing U.S. oil drilling, promising lower energy prices despite domestic production being at record levels. During his event, he also honored two attendees who had medical emergencies, asking for "Ave Maria" to be played in their honor, calling them "patriots."
