According to TechFlow, on October 15, Sonic Labs CTO Andre Cronje questioned the practicality of blockchain application chain (appchain) in his latest article. Andre Cronje pointed out that although application chain technology sounds attractive, it faces many challenges in practical application:

1. Difficulties in issuing native stablecoins and integrating trusted oracles

2. Development tools and wallet configuration require additional work

3. Interoperability and network effects are difficult to achieve

Andre Cronje believes that modern blockchains have basically solved the speed and throughput problems, and Appchain feels like an engineering solution that is looking for a problem. As an alternative, Andre Cronje proposed solving the value capture problem through a revenue sharing model, pointing out that applications like Uniswap can capture value by directly sharing gas fees without running an independent chain.
