Memcoins are becoming more popular than Bitcoin.

Over the past year, interest in Bitcoin has fallen to its lowest levels

At the same time, the popularity of memecoins is only growing

The capitalization of the meme coin sector has already exceeded $58 billion.

In recent months, interest in the flagship of the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin (BTC), has noticeably declined.

According to Google Trends, search volumes for the word "bitcoin" have reached their lowest level in a year. Memcoins have taken center stage.

Memcoins Take Center Stage

Over the past year, the search interest index for the query "bitcoin" has dropped to 23 out of 100. This indicates a sharp drop in attention to BTC.

The peak — 100 points — occurred in March. Then the leading cryptocurrency by capitalization updated its absolute maximum (ATH), rising above $70 thousand for the first time in history.

At the same time, queries for the word "memcoins" over the past 12 months have scored 60 points, with the maximum value reached in June.

English-language searches show similar dynamics. However, there, the popularity of queries for the term "memcoins" is growing rapidly. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Yoon Ju noted that by the end of October, the figure is likely to reach an all-time high.
