◾17.6% of the total number of bitcoins are considered inactive, they have not been moved for a long time.

◾4.8% are assigned to addresses that presumably belong to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin.
◾3.3% are in the possession of businesses.
◾2.4% are controlled by government agencies.
The remaining 6.2% of BTC has not yet been mined, and their mining will continue until 2140.
