Verge is a fast, efficient, and decentralized payment network blockchain that improves on the original Bitcoin (BTC) blockchain

Verge operates on a proof-of-work consensus algorithm similar to Bitcoin, on which its code is based. At least 51% of all full nodes on the network must agree that a transaction is valid for it to be added to the blockchain. New blocks are created through a mining process in which users compete to solve complex, energy-intensive problems. However, unlike Bitcoin, Verge supports five different mining algorithms, which according to the development team makes the network more secure because more people can participate in the mining process

Xvg was launched in 2016 by Justin Valo, who has 20 years of experience in network security and approximately 10 years of experience in blockchain technology. Xvg protects privacy by running secure protocols such as I2P, Wraith, and TOR, an anonymity network. The Wraith protocol allows users to choose between a public or private distributed ledger when trading on the Xvg platform. Xvg Coin is a cryptocurrency that was launched in 2014 and was formed from a fork of Doge Coin. Initially named Doge Coin Dark, the cryptocurrency was later renamed Verge Currency in 2016.

Xvg is mined using Proof of Work algorithms. This makes it accessible to miners who may be locked into other ASIC-resistant currencies. A hybrid TOR and I2P are used to protect the IP addresses of cryptocurrency wallet owners in a private manner. With these systems, if any of your transactions are at risk, the parties involved are not visible, making the blockchain concept more reliable.
