Crypto-assets are likely to be legalized in #Ukraine in the first half of 2025. This was stated by the head of the Committee for Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Daniil Getmantsev.
âBy the end of the year [2024] the relevant bill is being developed by the National Bank of Ukraine together with the IMF. Not even being developed, but finalizing the one that lies with us in the Committee. When we will receive a specific official position of the IMF experts regarding this bill, I think, tentatively, I-II quarter of next year,â - said Getmantsev in the podcast.
He also urged not to have illusions about possible benefits for the taxation of crypto-assets.
âThere will be no benefits,â - emphasized the deputy.
According to Getmantsev, the taxation of crypto-assets will be realized according to the same model as in the case of securities. Consequently, we are talking about the bill from the National Commission on securities and #StockMarket (NCSSM).
As a reminder, there is an alternative bill, from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. It proposes a different taxation model with a gradual increase in the rate.
Getmantsev noted that the tax will be imposed on investment income, which the holder of crypto-assets must self-declare.
He also believes that in 2025 Ukrainians will be able to pay with #Cryptoassets , probably for products and services.

Getmantsev had earlier strongly criticized the Commission. According to him, the âinstitutional capacityâ of the NCSSM is extremely low.
