TAO: The Rise of a New AI Driver
At its core, Bittensor (TAO) is pioneering a new frontier, creating a decentralized network where AI models can be trained and shared in a way that is incentivized for both developers and users.
1. The rapid expansion of subnets
The rapid expansion of subnets is the main catalyst behind Bittensor's rapid growth. Subnets debuted a year ago and have quickly become the backbone of Bittensor's development. Today, there are more than 50 active subnets on the Bittensor mainnet, and many more are waiting on the testnet and will be online soon. The surge in the number of subnets has greatly enhanced the network's functionality, attracting more and more developers, users, and all parties.
2. TAO will usher in a halving in 2025
Bittensor is about to enter a major moment of its first halving, which is expected to occur at the end of 2025. This is very similar to Bitcoin's halving cycle, and this event will halve the issuance rate of new TAO tokens.
Currently, the Bittensor network issues 7,200 TAOs per day in the form of block rewards, or 1 TAO per block, which are distributed to miners, validators, subnet owners, and delegators. However, once the halving event occurs (triggered when 10.5 million TAOs enter circulation), the issuance will be halved to 0.5 TAOs per block, thereby reducing the daily supply of new TAOs entering the market.
Why is this event so important? When the supply of TAO decreases, scarcity is created. In any market, if the supply decreases and demand remains stable or increases (the increase in subnets and the introduction of dTAOs have contributed greatly), the result is bound to go in only one direction - up.
Bittensor can be said to have good things going for it, and the rise in token prices is even more powerful. With the current strong momentum, the upcoming updates mentioned above, potential EVM support, and continued community development (such as the rapid integration of NousResearch's breakthrough in distributed training into Bittensor), these are all strong evidence of Bittensor's bright future.
