The Bitcoin was stored in 12 wallets, and the drug dealer claimed that the seed phrase was lost in a break-in. The value of Bitcoin in the wallet has soared from US$56 million to US$378 million.

Collins first invested in Bitcoin in 2011 using profits from his drug business when the price of Bitcoin was between $0.30 and $29. It ended 2011 trading at $4.72. Collins claimed to have hidden a file containing the seed phrase for a Bitcoin wallet in a fishing rod box at a rental property in County Galway, but that the file was lost after his home was broken into.
