According to TechFlow, on October 9, Benzinga reported that famous economists Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok recently proposed in a podcast that Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin should be a strong candidate for the Nobel Prize in Economics.

Cowen praised Vitalik's significant contribution to the field of cryptocurrency monetary economics, believing that his achievements far surpassed those of other economists. He said: "Vitalik built a platform and created a currency that can be said to have refuted Mises' regression theorem. Although he developed on the basis of Satoshi Nakamoto, his achievements are undoubtedly at the Nobel Prize level."

The two economists also praised Vitalik for leading Ethereum's smooth transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake. Tabarrok likened the process to "changing tires on a moving car," calling it "incredible." Cowen also emphasized Vitalik's personal qualities, calling him "very polite," "would behave well at award ceremonies," and affirmed his philanthropy.
