BlockBeats reported that on October 9, OpenAI requested on Tuesday to dismiss Musk's federal lawsuit against the company, which accused OpenAI of harassment in order to promote the billionaire's own artificial intelligence startup xAI.

Two months ago, Musk filed a lawsuit accusing OpenAI of abandoning its founding mission of developing an open artificial intelligence platform for the "benefit of humanity" in favor of maximizing profits.

In a motion to dismiss filed Tuesday in federal court in California, OpenAI said Musk’s lawsuit was the latest in “Musk’s increasingly aggressive campaign to harass OpenAI for his own competitive advantage.”

The company said Musk had supported its core goal of seeking "the safe and beneficial development of general artificial intelligence," but the billionaire allegedly "abandoned the venture after its efforts to establish dominance failed."
