According to PCHOME, the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission plans to launch a virtual asset custody business. Currently, three banks have expressed interest. The first application for a trial virtual asset custody business is expected to appear in the first quarter of next year. The service objects will include virtual asset exchanges, professional institutional investors, etc. According to relevant explanatory materials, financial institutions applying for a trial virtual asset custody business in the future must specify the types of virtual assets to be held, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, etc., and must also specify the service objects of the virtual asset custody business, such as virtual asset platforms, professional investors or general investors, etc.
