Almost six months after the release of#BitcoinCore 27.0, the Bitcoin development team has released a new version - Bitcoin Core 28.0.

This update includes a number of improvements and bug fixes for the Bitcoin mainnet.

The update comes shortly after developers identified a high-risk vulnerability affecting approximately one in six Bitcoin nodes, making them vulnerable to DoS attacks.

These attacks involved overloading nodes with low-complexity header chains, which could lead to potential crashes when their throughput capacity was exceeded. However, Bitcoin Core 28.0 addresses these issues with improved security, reducing the risk of such attacks.

The update also supports reproducible builds, allowing advanced users to compile binaries identical to those hosted on the official Bitcoin Core website, promoting trust and transparency in the community.

While the Bitcoin Core update may not have any immediate effect, it could impact the market once investors fully understand its significance.
