The difference between learning and understanding, art and Tao
In my opinion, many knowledge, skills and methods in life are often acquired through learning, which can be called "art". Art is external, specific, can be taught and copied, and they are our tools and means to solve problems and meet challenges. However, it is often difficult to achieve true mastery and excellence by relying solely on the art acquired through learning.
In contrast, those things we get through deep understanding can be called "Tao". Tao is internal, abstract, and difficult to express. It is related to our way of thinking, values and spiritual realm. Tao cannot be mastered through simple learning. It requires us to truly understand its essence through continuous practice, reflection and understanding.
In my personal experience and feelings, I deeply understand the difference between learning and understanding. Learning can enable us to master a lot of knowledge and skills, but what really makes us grow and progress is often those things obtained through deep understanding. These understandings allow us to understand the world and ourselves more deeply, and also make us more calm and confident when facing difficulties and challenges.
I think that in the process of learning and growing, we should not only focus on learning skills, but also on understanding the Tao. Only when we truly understand the Tao can we go further, more steadily and more wonderfully on the road of life.
