TechFlow reported that on October 5, Xinhua News Agency quoted multiple media reports that the Brazilian Supreme Court said that because the X platform transferred the fine to the wrong bank account, the court would postpone its decision on whether to lift the ban on the platform's operations in Brazil. On October 4, the X platform submitted an application to the Brazilian Supreme Court, saying that it had paid a fine of 28.6 million reais (about 5.24 million US dollars) and hoped to resume operations in Brazil. However, Supreme Court Judge Alexander de Morais responded that although the X platform paid the fine in full, the money was not transferred to the account designated by the court.

De Morais asked X to re-transfer the funds immediately and said that once the fine was confirmed, he would consult the Brazilian Attorney General on the request to resume operations. The legal team of X platform denied that the transfer was wrong and believed that there was no need to consult the Attorney General, and once again asked the court for approval to resume its business. Previously, De Morais ruled on August 30, 2024 to suspend X platform's operations in Brazil on the grounds that the platform did not comply with the order to close accounts that spread hatred and false information, and failed to appoint its legal representative in Brazil on time.
