**Crypto Scheme Mastermind Sentenced to 10 Years**

David Carmona, the founder of the fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme IcomTech, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Carmona misled investors by promising massive returns from crypto trading and mining, but in reality, IcomTech was a Ponzi scheme that swindled $8.4 million from victims between 2018 and 2019.

The scheme targeted working-class individuals, luring them with lavish expos and false promises of financial freedom. When the scam collapsed, many were left with nothing.

In addition to his prison term, Carmona will face three years of supervised release. Other key figures in the scheme, including former CEO Marco Ruiz Ochoa, have also been sentenced.
