A 21-year-old from Indiana, Evan Light, has pleaded guilty to a massive cyber intrusion that led to the theft of nearly $38 million in cryptocurrency from a financial services company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Light and his co-conspirators hacked into the company's servers by stealing a client's identity, then funneled the stolen crypto through mixing services and gambling sites to hide their tracks.

The FBI raided Light's home in May 2023, leading to his arrest. Facing up to 40 years in prison, Light's sentencing date is yet to be set.
