PANews reported on October 1 that according to Cointelegraph, Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ) has joined the ProjectGuardian program of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to explore the potential benefits of RWA in the financial market. ANZ will work with blockchain oracle company Chainlink Labs and Singapore investment company ADDX to test how RWAs such as commercial paper can interoperate between blockchains.
Launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in 2022, Project Guardian is a collaborative initiative between policymakers and the financial industry to enhance liquidity and efficiency in financial markets through RWA tokenization. ANZ Bank’s head of banking services, Nigel Dobson, said the bank is interested in exploring how its Australian dollar-backed stablecoin can be transferred more freely between blockchains.
