On March 26, 2024, a new story of new people, new deception, new intrigue, new hopes and disappointments began…

Introduction

A new game has appeared on Telegram, which was predicted to become the successor of $NOT , which managed to make noise with its listing and rapid growth, providing ordinary people, almost nothing to do with cryptocurrency to earn their first crypto-assets and learn this world from the inside.

Notcoin paid 100–200$ in dollar equivalent to active users, the coin was listed on top CEX exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX) and on DEX of TON blockchain — STON.fi and DeDust, and Telegram Wallet provided 300% APR for 7 days.

By the way this APR is not that high — decentralized exchange STON.fi provided APR over 1000% in the first few days, and around 500% in the next couple of weeks. At the moment, the APR of the NOT/TON pair on STON.fi is 23%.

The simplest game that brought millions together

Hamster Kombat was not as simple as Notcoin, in the game, in addition to the classic mechanics of the clicker was realized system of pumping automatic payments every 3 hours, it then became its calling card.

The main task of the game was to pump the cards and increase the hourly profit, on the basis of which Airdrop will be calculated in the future. But at first users were not aware that the calculation will not be based on the absolute number of coins on the account. Because of this there was a dissonance — whether it is worth spending the accumulated coins for pumping, or it is already worth saving them for Airdrop. Along with this, the first memes appeared:

As well as voice memes, with the basic idea that 1 hamster coin will be worth 1 ruble (1 cent).

The guys were not so wrong, but they obviously did not expect such conversion, personally I had 1000 $HMSTR for my 4.5 million coins per hour, which at the moment was worth about a thousand Russian rubles (10$).

Marketing

Hamster Kombat’s marketing costs were negligible: most of the small influencers worked for the idea, and just like with Notcoin they expected to get a huge Airdrop for referrals. By the way, they weren’t satisfied either. Influencers of larger size entered and bought allocation, with the estimated cost of the project in 100 million dollars, of course, they were not deprived, but they were given not so much money. On average, they made 6x the amount they paid.

But the crowning marketing trick was word of mouth, and blocked super-cards with large profits per hour, to unlock which you had to invite a certain number of friends.

A conceptually new advert

In Hamster Kombat, large organisations were able to buy advertising, as Hamster created a card with that organisation on it, and it was seen by every user while pumping their cards. Some well-known betting organisations, as well as ordinary organisations have managed to buy advertising. For example, Yandex Food advertised a job as a courier.

Also, Hamster Kombat began to advertise mobile games, giving out rewards in keys, which also became one of the criteria for Airdrop. The keys were given to users who found codes for Hamster Kombat in the advertised games.

A sad ending to a long-running drama

Airdrop.

People were as disappointed as possible, as the first people who received the tokens got about $10 on average, despite hours-long sessions of tapping on the screen. People naturally started selling their coins, and the rate went even lower, destroying faith in the coin.

But, volumes are still holding up, and some blockchain users are making money despite the drawdown. The TON blockchain’s main DEX liquidity pools are offering crazy APR percentages with fairly low risks. For example HMSTR/NOT (483% APR) and HMSTR/TON (202% APR) pools. You can learn more in the official guide to liquidity pools, don’t be lazy, even if you don’t use it, you will learn a lot about blockchain and decentralised finance.

And for those who just want to buy or sell coins onchain STON.fi rolled out a guide:

A spark of hope in the darkness of disappointment

Hamster kombat launched the second season, promise to give away 11 per cent saplai, which will inevitably reduce the value even more.

But since everyone took offence to Hamster Kombat the number of players has dropped a lot. Which means the share per player will become larger.
