Bitcoin Cools Below $66K, Ripple (XRP) Surges to 7-Week High
- Bitcoin prices fell slightly from a peak of $66,500 to $66,000 over the weekend and continued to drop by another $500. However, BTC is still up 4% over the past week, with its market cap falling slightly below $1.3 trillion.
- Meanwhile, Ripple (XRP) surged past $0.62, reaching its highest level since early August. It is one of the few altcoins to post a positive performance over the past 24 hours.
- Other major altcoins such as ETH and BNB are down slightly by less than 1%, while Dogecoin is up more than 3%, reaching above $0.125.
- The total cryptocurrency market cap has dropped by $30 billion overnight, now below $2.4 trillion.
